New
England, particularly Eastern Massachusetts, is considered by many to be
the center of higher education in the United States and even the world:
-
For
centuries, the high standards
produced through Massachusetts’ colleges and universities have
influenced the world.
-
Men, women, presidents, kings and queens have
been educated in these institutes of higher learning.
-
The
knowledge, expertise, skills, arts, science and technology, learned and
disseminated, have had tremendous international influence.
|
These
institutions are much to important for us to ignore. We must pray
fervently, asking God to breakthrough and reclaim our colleges for
Christ. A generation of world-class young women and
men who can influence our societies is at stake.

Foundation
Biblical
principles dominated education in 1636, when John Harvard founded the
first college in America in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The first book
published at the new college was the Book of Psalms. The first
administrative act at Harvard, was the ordering of New Testaments to be
published. God was honored and He prospered our nation.
For
many years now, God’s precepts and designs have been belittled and
even used for evil reasons---and not for His glory. The original
Biblical foundations of higher education have being nearly destroyed.
God is no longer respected, as He was by our founding forefathers.

Understanding
When
the human spirit tries to dominate without yielding to God’s Spirit,
it leads to decline. God's Spirit enables us to truly
understanding what we learn. "Howbeit when he, the Spirit
of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth..." (John
16:13). Christ
gives each of us God's Spirit if we let Him. "He shall
baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and fire" (Matthew
3:11).
Teaching about this spark of divine inspiration through God's Spirit has
been denied more and more over a period of many years at our educational
institutions. The Bible warns: “My people are destroyed for lack of
knowledge...” (Hosea
4:6).
Restoration
There
is a spiritual contamination inside our colleges all around the nation because
of the sins committed in the past. To come into the fullness of
God's abundant blessings for us, we must confess, repent and turn away
from self and toward Christ.
Higher
education is a gate, in the physical and spiritual realm. It is a
door that allows knowledge to come, transform and enrich our societies.
Through this door can come curses when the truth of God is changed or
twisted by contaminated teachings or blessings when we seek God.
In the Garden of Eden, Satan
changed the truth of God to persuade
Eve. He offered contaminated teaching which resulted in
consequences that changed the Garden's life. He still uses that ploy
today.
We
are warned to beware of the treachery and ease of falling into that
deceitful plan. “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived
Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the
simplicity that is in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another
Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye
receive another spirit, which ye have not
received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might
well bear with him” (2Cor.
11:3-4).

Call
to Action
The
Church must make the difference in our society--starting today--before
it's forever too late. Over the years, we, as God’s
children, have given spiritual freedom and legal rights for
darkness to invade societies, churches, organizations and families
around the world, including the
educational system. We must pray and be willing to have God use us to
regain what has been lost.
Government
programs do not change the heart of the nation. |
Only God can turn the
heart of the kings (i.e. government). If we PRAY, CONFESS and
REPENT, we can expect God will answer.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal
their land" (2
Chronicles 7:14).
Prayer
Focus
If
we want to see this nation return to
God, we, who are believers in Christ, must humble ourselves, pray
earnestly and call upon God. The blessings God intended for
college faculties, students, and workers are being held by the darkness.
-
It
is time to earnestly focus our prayers.
-
It
is time for us to make colleges an urgent prayer priority.
-
It
is time to take up our spiritual weapons under the authority of our
Lord.
-
It
is time to conquer what we have lost.
Let's
ask God to do a spiritual housecleaning. He is in charge--we are
merely vessels. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but
mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down
imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ; and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience,
when your obedience is fulfilled." (2
Cor.10:4-6).
Goals
1.
For strategic purposes,
the State of Massachusetts is divided in 12 regions, supervised by
coordinators.
2.
We will pray for ALL colleges in Massachusetts and begin expanding to
all New England..
3.
We will physically touch each college campus by praying on the site in
small groups of believers. “Every place that the sole of your foot
shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…” (Joshua
1:3).
4. We will, from time to time, set dates and times for intensive
prayer and prepare for these events with days of prayer and fasting in
advance.
5. We will renew the “Covenants” made by the first Christians
that came to Massachusetts.
6. We will enthrone Jesus Christ in each visited campus,
prophesizing that He reigns over that college.
7. We will ask God to send salvation and cultural transformation in
every place visited, including the surrounding communities. We will ask
Him to alter the spiritual climate in America.
8. We will ask God for a “Spiritual Revolution in Massachusetts,”
mobilizing the next generation in evangelism and outreach.
9. We will ask God for intercessors with a heart for higher
educational systems, for intercessors to continuously keep praying and
supporting the faculties, students,
administration and professional workers.
10. We will ask God to raise up prayer meetings and Bible studies
in each college campus.
11. We will ask God to close the door for false ideologies and
heresies that are infiltrating higher educational facilities in
Massachusetts, to expose foolishness, and reveal truth.
12.
We will ask God to use the faculties, students, administration and
professional workers to join with us in rebuilding our section of a living
“Prayer Wall” around New England.
Summary
Colleges
and universities need the Church's attention now! We who believe are privileged to
know the God who moves mountains, yet our prayers can move His heart.
The
decision to change the history of one nation belongs to the Church. God
gave authority, power and spiritual weapons to break down strongholds.
What will WE do?
“The Spirit of
America” is the Massachusetts state motto.
Let’s
invite the Holy Spirit to rest over the colleges
of Massachusetts. Let's claim them for God. Surely these great
institutions will take their proper place of leadership in the soon coming
REVIVAL that will break out in this region if we seek God earnestly
in prayer.
Supporting Ministries
The unity of the Body of Christ is giving the victories and opening doors.
The following ministries are helping and supporting Joshua Project and its prayer initiatives, to rebuild a new foundation for the Gospel inside universities and colleges campuses.

in Christ,
